Virginia's seasons span Mid-Atlantic mild to mountain cold — Northern Virginia winters are cold and wet, the Tidewater is gentler, and the Blue Ridge runs colder still. Indoor demand is sustained in the Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads metros November through March.

Virginia's golf culture splits between DC-corridor seriousness in the north and Tidewater country-club tradition in the south. The indoor layer is densest in the DC suburbs.
