With several choices in golf simulator software, which is best for your indoor golf space? On this page we take a look at the latest golf simulator software experiences, compare prices and features, and let you know what to expect when playing.

GSPRO

GSPRO advertises it’s as “golf simulation made for, and by, real golfers” and is currently our favorite golf simulator course software, with over 1,000 courses and a dynamic driving range it’s fun to play and practice at home. GSPRO offers realistic golf ball physics, 4k graphics, and both local and online play.

GSPRO courses are open source designed, and include favorite destinations from around the world and a growing collection of “fantasy” courses that offer a fun and interactive experience not offered by any other golf simulator software.

GSPRO is also compatible with nearly all launch monitors, via it’s OpenAPI access.

GSPRO annual subscription costs $250, those that want to play competitive golf on the Simulator Golf Tour (SGT) will pay another $80 a year to access the tours, with an optional $40 more to play in or host your own SGT leagues.

Note: GSPRO requires a Windows 10/11 PC. GSPRO cannot be run on a mobile device, tablet, or macOS.

Minimum recommended specs for running GSPRO software:

  • 1080: GTX 3060 or better graphics card, 16g ram, and at least 10g of free space available.
  • 4k: RTX 3080 or better, 32g ram, and at least 20g of free space available.

E6 Apex

The long awaited E6 Apex software from TrueGolf is now launched, featuring high end graphics and AI commentary for a unique playing experience.

E6 Apex software is the most expensive option, but many indoor golf facilities are switching to it to provide their customers with the best graphics and experience.

Course play for E6 Apex starts at $300 a year, but players who want to enjoy practice, challenges, bag mapping, and club fitting features will pay $450.

Is it worth the high end pricing model? We will be testing it soon and comparing to other options on the market, stay tuned!

Note: E6 Apex is currently only available on a select few launch monitors with official integrations.

Awesome Golf

Awesome golf is a fun option, especially for those using a mobile device to power their home golf simulator.

Awesome golf currently offers a 14 day free trial, a monthly subscription, or a one time purchase for lifetime access.

We enjoy Awesome Golf for it’s fun games, especially for kids. The course play is currently limited to a few courses, and the graphics are a bit cartoonish for those wanting the most realistic and immersive experience, but the practice options are fantastic and Awesome Golf is a good fit for those with unique requirements, kids who enjoy playing the various challenges and games, or as an add-on for indoor golf addicts who want every option possible.

One of the reasons we love Awesome Golf is because it’s mobile friendly, and doesn’t require a PC. It can be used on ios/android devices and tablets, offering a more flexible solution and less initial cost.

Launch Monitor Specific Software

More and more launch monitors are featuring their own software and course play options. These include:

  • FSX Play
  • Trackman Virtual Golf
  • Uneekor Game Day
  • Garmin Home Tee Hero

The downside is that you can only use these software options with that brand of launch monitor. If you have a Trackman, and your best golf buddies have a Square, Foresight, or Uneekor launch monitor – you won’t be able to play online matches together.
